Day #11 Puntarenas - Chestnut Mandibiled Toucan
We are coming to the end of our first cruise with the last full dy being in Puntarenas. We opted for the 10-in-1 tour taking in as many sights as possible. As usual, there were monkeys, scarlet macaws, crocs, iguanas and many types of birds.
Today's blip is the chestnut mandibled toucan. They lived quite high up in the rain forest and were amazing to see. Not as big as I had imagined, but quite easy to spot once you know what you are looking for.
Extras today are the boat billed heron - a really weird looking bird, an osprey and a roseate spoonbill(my aim today was this species for my main blip but they were really hard to photograph and this is not a great shot).
Tomorrow is changeover day, and not sure if we are going on tour yet - will see how we feel in the morning. After being on tour for 5 days running, we are pretty tired and might just have a down day, as we have another 6 days before we get another sea day to relax.
