Feathery

Last autumn I blipped these clematis seed heads when they had just formed, and were still quite fresh. Now the winter has battered them and they're reduced to a more stripped back appearance, which is quite attractive, especially seen close. It's almost as if they've turned back into flowers, and what were tendrils last autumn have matured into these delicate feathery structures. The winds are slowly tearing the old stems away from their supporting bushes and fence. I'll have to get out this weekend if I can and remove them altogether before they get blown away and take with them some of the neighbouring clematis that they've become entwined with. It's a different variety and isn't pruned annually as this one is.
