Tree felling

Neighbour N was in charge of taking the top off a beech tree in our garden. The job was carried out with ropes, clips, weights, hooks and ladders (tied to the main trunk) because, they told me, when cutting a branch with a top on it the fall can spin on the way down, not good. John was on the ground with a rope pulling one way and N descended to pull the other rope, the branch needed gentle persuasion to bring it down, all much slower than I imagined.
