Kestrel

This photo was taken when I was most of the way up a steep hill - only 45 degrees - surrounded by plenty of furze (or gorse).  I suspect that my surroundings tricked the kestrel into thinking that I was too small to worry about.  I guess that he was 25 metres away.

It was the low winter sun which illuminated most of the kestrel's body.
