Court
Round the back of the Magistrates' Court admiring some nice early morning shadows.
When I first came to Bradford this was a rather gloomy corner, partly in the shadow of the Police HQ next door, and crowded in by trees. The demolition of the police building a couple of years ago has opened up the space, at least until they think of something else to build there.
Built in 1972, the building was notable for returning to the use of local sandstone from the Bolton Woods quarry, rather than the alien Portland stone that had been used on major new buildings in the city during through the 60s. Not that you can appreciate those warm, honey tones so much in mono.
