Burns
Robert Burns, Scotland's national bard, was born on this day in 1759.
Around the world, people will gather to celebrate his life and works at Burns' Suppers, with haggis, neeps and tatties on the table and by listening to his poetry and the songs he wrote or collected. Our church Men's Group organised one last night - and great fun it was too, even though as I was driving, I had to make do with Irn Bru for my toasts!
This mural of the bard is in a collection called The Gallery, part of the Glasgow Mural Trail. It came to mind this morning, so a quick bus trip was made into Glasgow to make it my blip for the day.
