Run about time and RANTINGS!
Best laid plans and all that.................................
Today Ann had a plan:
Morning walk with me.
Thorough clean of the flat.
Asda shop to pick up wine supplies for our weekend away.
Swim at least 50 lengths, (but hopefully 100) towards 'Project 1000' because the pool is always quiet early Thursday afternoon.
Afternoon walk for me up Blackford Hill (cos she'd promised me lots of run about time today).
Prosecco & nibbles with my little friend Archie. OK, I think it was probably the humans that were going to have the Prosecco and nibbles.
Pack for weekend away.
And here starts the RANT............
….............Ann got as far as doing the Asda shop. On the way home a warning light flashed up on our dashboard AGAIN?! This is the 6th time in less than a year that we have had to check our tyre pressure. Fortunately we have a 'Kwikfit' practically right next door. And Ann loves the Kwikfit fitters. Unfortunately even though the Kwikfit fitters checked the tyre pressure and everything was fine, the warning light would not go away. Our car is booked in for it's first service next week so Ann phoned 'Arnold Clark' (who we bought the car from) and explained the problem. This took at least half an hour because nobody answered the phone and then when it was answered it took a lot of listening to automated messages before one could actually speak to a real live person.
Spoke to a lovely lady called Anna. Initally she said there was nothing she could do for us but after speaking to 'someone,' told us to bring the car in at 4pm which we did...........................
….................BUT that meant that Ann had to cancel her swim, I had to cancel my run about up Blackford Hill and I had to cancel my nibbles & Prosecco with my little friend Archie................. And Ann was sooooooo looking forward to Prosecco & nibbles!
Soooooooo............................. at 2.30pm I went down to Seafield (near where we had to take the car) and I had loads of lovely 'run about' time on the beach.
And then we went to the car dealership. 'Grumpy old man' on the reception desk seemed really annoyed that 'Anna' had booked us in and he told us they were really busy and the car probably wouldn't be ready before 5.30pm at which point Ann said, 'OK, I'll just trek the dog round for a bit then.' The very lovely Anna, overheard the conversation and told 'Grumpy old man' to check us in'. Yay! Grumpy old man said he'd phone us when the car was ready. Did we get a phone call? We did not! Anyway Ann made me walk around the streets for an hour or so. #soannoyedthatourfitbitisntworking I would have liked extra play time on the beach but it was getting dark. Arrived back at the car dealership around 5pm-ish and the very lovely Anna spotted us and said that the car was fine. Apparently they've re-set the sensors, whatever that means??!! And the car is safe to drive. Yay!!!
Car is booked in for a service next week. Haven't told them yet that we have an email from the manager to say we have a ''free service' due to their apalling customer service that we experienced last year when we actually bought the car. …...........Expect another RANT next Thursday??!!
…...................And tomorrow we're both off on a weekend away with the girlies. Yay!!!
PS – Ann's just drinking a big glass of wine and still has all her packing to do. Hope she's going to remember what I want to take with me. Lol!
