Catkins in the sun

There wasn't a lot of sun today but when it had the chance it lit up the catkins. This bumper crop will develop into hazelnuts which will provide a feast for the squirrels. There are never any left for us.
I had a surprise call from step-grandson Jake, just for a chat. I do enjoy hearing about his university course. He is reading geography and it interests me to hear what he is studying. At the moment he is thinking about flooding. It was good to cat with him.
