The E.A. Wiehl Memorial Sail
This morning, we all gathered down on the dock to take one last journey aboard Mr. W's father's boat, Prudence II. I'm quite sure the Coast Guard would not have approved of so many people aboard, but we were slow and careful, and everyone returned to shore none the worse for wear. Mr. W's father really loved boats, and owned quite a few of them in his long lifetime. It was a bit sad to be on board today without him there.
This collage shows the boat, then Kristin (with Henry barely visible in a baby carrier attached to her front), Stephanie with her daughters Paige and Hannah, and her niece Fern. Then there's a shot of Elliott and Fern up aloft on the lookout for dolphins, manatees and birds -- we were lucky and saw several dolphins as well as a manatee! The last picture shows everyone except for "Captain Larry" -- a lovely man who was good friends with Mr. W's dad, and who was in charge of the helm today. From left to right: Paige, Nate, Stephanie and Hannah, Cat, Jed and Fern, Peggy, Peter, Mr. W, Kristin and Henry, Elliott, DDW, and Tom.
