A shoulder scan this morning at the Beardwood Hospital. With all the trauma of the ankle surgery I've not really noticed the shoulder, but the consultant was great today. He used ultrasound to get in motion images of the biomechanics and was able to confirm that there are no tears or significant damage and that this period of forced rest (together with anti-inflamatories and physio) should be enough to settle the impingement.

For every Yin there is of course a Yang. Returning to the reservoir I had a hilarious chat with an elderly, properly Cumbrian, fisherman who regaled me with his stories of not just the one that got away but also the one the goosander stole. He also confirmed that the chap I'd encountered earlier was a well known "wrong 'un"
