Intrepid

We had a bit of time to spare before we met friends for lunch at The Lakes Distillery. So, it being a beautiful day, we thought we would try get some reflections across Bassenthwaite. In doing so we met this pair and dog Freddie getting ready to go for a quick dip. The dog was far too sensible to go in whereas one of the swimmers was in there without a wetsuit. Impressive.
We also went to the pencil museum in Keswick, had a great (and very long lunch), went to see Darkest Hour and popped into a pub for a quick bite before heading back to the hotel.
All that talk of food reminds me I was going to tell you about our dinner last night. We pushed the boat out and had the 10 course tasting menu at the Forest Side hotel in Grasmere. It was simply stunning. A fitting way to mark 43 years since Mr EAnn and I met. Now we need to go back on the diet!
