Herons in Flight

Suzanne and I went to a favorite wildlife area in Virginia to look for Red-headed Woodpeckers.  We didn't see a single one, but we did see Northern Pintail ducks, lots of mallards, mergansers, bluebirds, and this majestic Great Blue Heron.  The sun felt good and made it easier to photograph this fellow in flight.  I have added another shot as an extra.
