A long road for a short cut

Six hours to get to and from Edinburgh  today. It was not a good day to be a commuter. After six trains had been emptied onto one train station platform, I made it on to the first one that was allowed to carry on to Edinburgh (after around an hour on the packed platform) and we got routed a different way. The highlight was getting to see the airport runway up close. The lowlight was everything else about the journeys.
