Dark and complicated

His problem (he admitted) was that he was too dark and complicated. People found it hard to understand him or were put off by his challenging personality. He wished that he could change.
The truth? He was quite pleased with his dark and complicated persona and he knew, deep down, that it made him more interesting, more attractive.
The truth? He was neither dark nor complicated nor interesting.
