we have rose bushes out front, several colors and varieties, and they've been blooming some ever since we moved in. but all the rain lately, especially this weekend, and whoa, they're out of control. huge, fragrant blooms everywhere: pink, yellow, red. i don't even like roses but these are indeed, gorgeous.

one of those days that started at a miserably low point and steadily improved over the course of the day to something like neutral. better than a lack of improvement, i say.

discovered the discipline of geography. who knows what people with phd's in geography do? yeah, neither did i until yesterday, and it blew my mind. more things to consider i guess. in the mean time, talking to a professor over there who teaches an incredible summer session on vegetation response to climate change in the kalahari. summer in botswana? possible. we'll see.
