Court Construction
Our friends from Canada finally arrived and the first order of business was to create the volleyball court we will use for the next five or so months. Daryl has been coming to Zihuatanejo for about ten years and has created his own volleyball industry on La Ropa Beach. He sets a court up every year in approximately the same spot. When people walk by, he invites them to play. Some days the games are good, some days not so much, but we get to play some form of volleyball (doubles, 4s, 2 on 1, etc.) just about every day. This year his poles were missing, so a couple of the beach guys volunteered to go back into the jungle, find some suitable limbs, and bring them back. Two hundred pesos later, we had two sturdy poles from which to string the net. One of the guys even helped dig the holes and get everything set up. Now we just need some players to arrive and let the games begin!
