Hidden Life
Headed up to Wentworth for lunch at Ann’s antique centre café and a wonder around. It was supposed to be sunny but it was mostly grey. Walked down to Wentworth Woodhouse estate where i saw these stark skeletal trees of the horizon with cries in the foreground. It is a phone snap zoomed in so the quality isn’t great but it reminded me of a conversation earlier in the week.
Speaking with someone who experiences winter SADS and her friend who struggles with depression we discussed that although these trees seem desolate and empty of life, in fact they are doing just what they need to survive the winter and flourish again in the spring. That there is a whole ecosystem dependent on the life of that tree, meaning life for insects, birds, Moss, grass, flowers, even those crows. Ain’t life great, even when it’s hidden.
