Weird hoist thing

I've wondered for ages what this is and why it's in the gym. I took a photo so I could do some research. It's only been a gym for a few years so I'll need to find out what it was before.

A lazy day with a cold starting and annoying nosebleeds. Kind of ironic given I spent yesterday at a wellbeing fair eh?
