American Goldfinch
I was glad I didn't go out today, otherwise I'd have missed the 25 Siskins who decided to stop fo a snack at Solli's Swinging Seedery on their migratory way to Cape May. They were keeping company with two American Goldfinches who seemed to liked the buddeleia bush. It was really a pleasure to see their tinyness instead of those big tree sparrows scarfing down my food!
I also had a very quick visit this morning by a male red bellied woodpecker and three Eastern Phoebes who lit out when the blue jays arrived. Most of the Siskins left after about an hour or so but five or six remained until I closed up shop at 6pm.
