A bracing pier walk

A day to get out and go somewhere a bit special, after working all week.
I visited Clevedon a few years ago, but didn't walk the pier because inconveniently, One Direction, were filming their final video on it.
But after seeing articles about photographer Simon Robert's Pierdom project I had to go back. 
The pier has an amazing history of construction, popularity, collapse and rebuilding, now one of only 50 piers around the UK coast, and only Grade 1 listed left. 
Setting off on a  beautiful morning, turned into a grey, drizzly day at the pier, but it was wonderfully refreshing on it, and nearly deserted apart from a dozen or so anglers taking part in a fishing competition off the pier.
And no pop stars...
