Dad (I think) and cygnet
First, thank you for all your messages of support and good wishes yesterday following another knee injury. It's much better this morning, albeit a little stiff and clicky but with no real pain only a bit of insecurity.
A short lazy morning led to not doing very much for the remainder of the daylight except hobbling out for a walk which I managed at a very slow pace with no ill effects so far. Visited the allotment for some vegetables for tonight and called by Mallards Lake when it was almost dark.
We've followed the life of this family throughout the year. Of the 5 cygnets born in the spring, 2 have survived into adulthood. This will probably be one of the last times we see the family all together. Soon they'll be shooed off by their parents as they prepare for this year's brood. I think this is Dad as that knobble on the head is quite big, on the female it is smaller.
