Brains; Not Just Brawn

Actually took my main Blip last night at the "Comandante's" beautiful estate about 7km NE out of Mourão; couldn't not share it. The view and the light were breathtaking, wanted to stay on the porch taking photos, but was polite and went inside to make art together. Which was fun. We worked in pairs; the artist said to paint what was in your soul; well, looking at that view, what was in my soul was Mourão. Our land is off to the right of the castle somewhere; what a beautiful place we live...

Today was spent moving a solid marble sink from where it had been dumped behind the building, around and down to the front door, and in, and then up onto the three supports Mike had built for it.

Now, how does one move an object so heavy it's impossible to lift? You make rollers from the rotten old roof beams, and then lever it up onto them, tie it to the car, and get your wife to keep replacing the front roller as you drive the car forward. As it starts going downhill, the car then stops the whole thing taking off, and your wife drives while you keep heaving and guiding the sink round and onto the pavement, into the building, and round to the supports.

What then took even longer was alternately jacking (with the car jack) either end of the sink onto a gradually increasing stack of bricks until it was at the right height (think how they built the pyramids), and then sliding it along two bits of wood, into place. Getting it level and cementing around the wedges, and the day was gone.

See extra, with Mike in the driving seat, and the roller replacer risking a photo.
