Testing Testing 123

Catching up with my minimum hours of online Aptis testing before the end of the month - tonight and last night. Busy busy day, starting with a text this morning from a trainee saying he wasn't coming in today as his wife was sick. He was teaching in the afternoon. Long story, but he's withdrawn from the course, leaving us with just 5 trainees and a bit of rejigging to do with teaching rotas etc. It's also unsettling for the rest of the group, so we have to make an effort to make them feel supported etc. By the end of the day, we'd called a candidate who'd been interviewed just before this course started for this month's course, but we'd asked him to wait till next month (logistically 6 trainees is much better than 7 for lots of reasons). He took 30' to think about it and then said yes. He lives far from Cairo and had to organise his life to be in Cairo for the month. He joins us tomorrow morning and will be teaching in the afternoon! Fingers crossed! He was strong in the interview. Back up to 6 again!
