Conversation?

Today was altogether too hot for me and it wasn’t until 7.30 pm that I went in search of a blip. Amazingly I discovered these two praying mantis nymphs facing each other across a small gap. The only times I’ve seen communication between these insects is when adults are mating. I must admit that I came in relieved that I did not need to look further.

These are possibly two of the three nymphs in yesterday’s extra. A lot of you spotted all three. Well done. Last time I invited you to spot the mantis hardly anyone saw it without looking at the answer.
