You can't rush these things

Tomorrow, October 18, marks the 32nd anniversary of our arrival in Canada.
Today, October 17, the boss finally took up Canadian citizenship. Like me, she now has dual
As you can tell, she "maybe" has a problem making decisions.

But what struck me most about the ceremony, was when the citizenship judge described how some of the people in the room, beaming with smiles and eyes alight with happiness and a tear, were former refugees from war stricken countries.
Or even escapees from countries with problems that we only read about in the paper or see reports on TV.
When one comes face to face with people for whom these real stories are part of their past, their background, their life experience, it made me think how extremly fortunate I am.
