Wound up in Wexford

Building work

After a rather abbreviated night's sleep, I went in to work today to see how the upgrade was working.  It had actually gone quite smoothly.  A few issues with printing - but we're used to that, printing has been haphazard in the department for years - it can only get better!

The water supply hiatus was over.  And the fire at James Paget - apparently caused by someone setting fire to alcohol based hand cleaning gel - is sorted.  One of our colleagues is reported to have said "I'm amazed how well it burnt".  There have also been reports of alcohol dependent patients actually trying to imbibe the stuff!

We have much building work going on at the moment.  They have created a new door into our porch.  And barricaded off a significant portion of the drop off car parking.  I thought I knew what was going on, but the new door has me somewhat puzzled.  It's all "make do" - the main department is now much too small for our attendance numbers, but there's no money for major construction, so instead we've had bits added and it's all rather fragmented.  So the current works are supposed to make this fragmented department more effective.
