A day in Edinburgh

I got an early train to Edinburgh to meet Jenny. We had coffee in the Balmoral - no more expensive than Starbucks, and much more pleasant for a chat in comfort.

We went to see the Muriell Spark exhibition at the National Library. Not only is this the centenary of her birth, but also, my WEA literature class is going to be studying her work. I wish i’d known earlier about the Usher Hall event tomorrow, as we could have changed our day.

We had a special lunch together at Tom Kitchen. Jenny is having a rotten time - her husband has Alzheimer’s and her sister has breast cancer in lymph node. Our lunch was quite swanky and we enjoyed it, but 21212 is still our favourite.
