Heron flight
Rain for much of the day, which meant I only got out for a walk at dusk, when the sky was dark grey and the world was sodden. I resorted to playing with some in-camera movement shots - initially on my favourite local grove of silver birches, but then more experimentally on a fox (see extra) and heron. To be honest, the fox image was an accident, but I rather liked the effect of speed. This rather handsome creature was certainly moving at quite a pace, and soon after I took this I heard the most horrendous almost unearthly commotion - either a fox fight or copulation. The heron image was more deliberate, but I quite liked the ethereal appearance of the wings as it flew over the greasy, green river.
