Fungi on willow
There is a shady wet chalk pit at the nature reserve with lots of fallen willow trees, which is great for bryophytes and fungi. At this time of the year almost every moss-covered willow branch displays some bright red cup fungi - the spectacular scarlet elf-cup. However, I found another one today that was new to me - the brown jelly fungus Exidia recisa.
