What's going on here, food involved?

Walked through the Abbey Gardens on the way to work armed with bread for the Ducks and nuts for the Squirrels. Was surrounded by ducks and got some pretty good shots. Then went in search of some Squirrels. Now there is a man who I have seen quite often, he is dressed in black and the birds and Squirrels seem to know him well. He feeds them daily I think. He had just walked off when I saw some Squirrels and started throwing the nuts to attract them. Next I knew I was surrounded by Pigeons, I assume he must have just fed them. I had no bread left but one actually landed on my camera. Got a couple of Squirrel shots but this one won through!!!
