A wall to nowhere

The light today was interesting - not full sun but plenty of brightness around.
Off to Grimiinsh looking at an old settlement there and trying to unpick possibly two thousand years of occupation. Far too complex for us amatuers but an interesting puzzle to try.
This wall was probably built in 1814 when this land was crofted. Twelve years later, after all the work of building dykes and houses, the crofters were kicked off what they thought of as their land.
This one was owned by Roderick MacQueen, married to Mary MacPherson and he must have been born around 1765. They moved on ten miles down the coast in 1826 where they had to go through the whole process of building a home and the various dykes required for crofting. Aged around sixty, it must have been hard. His six children all remained within ten miles of their birth place.
