Four Seasons...
...in one day - and every one of them winter!
Our Ramblers walk today was a linear walk along the railway path from Kilmacolm to Bridge of Weir, incorporating a walk around Knapps Loch (pictured) and lunch in the cafe at Quarriers Village.
That doesn't tell half the story! Just before I left the house to meet up with the majority of the group in Cumbernauld it started snowing heavily. That continued for most of the bus journey into Glasgow, although by the time we arrived into the city, it was more like rain and had eased off a little. Another bus journey to Kilmacolm, where we started our 'walk' with a morning coffee-stop visit to a local cafe.
Once we got going, our walk was carried out in a mixture of sleet, snow, hail and the occasional sunny spell (see extra). Astonishingly, given the conditions when we met in Cumbernauld and some of the weather we encountered during our walk, we had a reasonably good turnout - sixteen of us started and ended - and there was a palpable sense of achievement as we boarded the bus at Bridge of Weir to take us back to Glasgow.
However, one must seriously doubt our sanity at times. There must be warmer and drier ways to exercise.
