A First For Blipfoto...
Only you Blippers will be able to tell me if I have experienced a first for Blipfoto today.
Today I had a little Blipmeet with Chantler63 when we did our usual wandering the streets of Birmingham with our cameras seeing what we could see. Today we found some great graffiti in the area around the Custard Factory in the Digbeth area. Some of the graffiti (example in Blip) was in a small area of car parking between two old buildings so we wandered in and were happily snapping away.
THEN... We turned around... SHOCK! HORROR! Across the entrance to the car park was a grill we hadn't seen! AND IT HAD COME DOWN! There was barbed wire over the walls and they were too high for two super fit striplings of over 60 Blippers to climb over... We were locked in a car park in the depths of the backstreets of Birmingham in the freezing cold, ready for our lunch, cameras in hand and no help anywhere: particularly when we realised that if we called out, no one could see us through the grille and they looked straight through us because they couldn't see where the voice was coming from!
I know that you will be pleased to know that two rather nice gentlemen website for charity developers eventually came along, took the trouble to find out where the voices were coming from and so tried to help us. One of them stayed to talk to us to keep us calm (!!!????) while the other one rode off on his white charger to try to find out who the car park belonged to. Just as he was charging back to us with his armour freshly fettled, a car drew up, the grille went up and we emerged without having to make shining ropes out of our tresses to enable us to climb over the grille...
We've had a great day! Found lots to photograph and have established, what I believe to be a first for Blipfoto - the first blippers to be locked into a carpark whilst searching for a Blip. The things we do for our art...
