Alfred Brendel, a charming and funny genius. It was such a privilege to hear him speak and even play a little to illustrate his passion for Schubert’s last three sonatas.

It would have been Schubert’s 221st birthday today, Brendel himself is 87, but one couldn’t help feeling they had met somewhere, somehow, there in the music.
