Oil by Avon

After driving I don't know how far to visit a tiny post office (because we heard that the postmaster had a great stash of stamps which turned out to not be true), we stopped on our way back to our friend, Avon's, studio. He had just finished this little snow scene and it was really nice. The whole scene was lit with lavender that, sadly, doesn't show up well on screen. Lovely.
Then we drove back to the gallery along the Wabash river where the eagles are hunting. I was so excited to see them that I forgot to take a picture. It was a total thrill to see them so close.
