Today our birthday girl friend was terribly sick and had to stay home. Raul, in the center drove Avelino and I to Chapala, Mexico which is about 40 miles outside of Guadalajara and is the largest lake in Mexico. Next to it is the town of Ajijic (pronounced Ahi Jeek)where many ex-pats from the US and Canada go to live full or part time. It was totally charming and artsy. We ate in this lovely garden even though the weather was quite chilly...the tequila kept us warm!
