Semlor!
We haven’t had the traditional Swedish Lent bun semla yet this year. But today was the day, so we went over to Grandma and Grandpa with two deliciously smelling semlor. Two? Mum and Grandma shared one. Lent? I know, but it’s available from Christmas to Easter. They are delicious! A soft cardamom bun, smooth marzipan filling with almond pieces and wonderfully airy whipped cream.
Grandma had made a perfect poodle dish for me, with my meatball, soft cheese and liver paté. Which made up for the fact that I didn’t get a piece of the actual semla. I usually get a very small piece, but mum forgot!
It’s now evening, and an amazing package with - literally - my name on it has landed in our house. I am guarding it with my life!
