Could do better...

Well, you might have guessed that my second effort at the 'illustration' class was less than awe-inspiring by the time it has taken me to blip it!

I was so frustrated by my first attempt at using watercolours as I found it so hard to produce something that didn't look flat and childlike. In fact a child could do a lot better at painting a hobbit door than the effort above.

Oh well, it's going to take me a lot longer to get the hang of this than I thought. I was so pleased with my elephant drawing last week that I thought I'd be able to paint in the same free, casual way. It is not turning out to be quite as easy as that!
