King Burger the Bruce

Times must be getting hard for Scotland's historical monuments, having to take on sponsorship from some of the planet's biggest and horriblest multi-nationals. Strange combination down at Dunfermline Abbey though.

After going just about stir crazy with the weather up until today, it was a blessed relief just to get out at all. Was even better to just keep pedalling until arriving here at Dunfermline and take in a bit of proper history. It's another of these places that I've never really explored and I had a great opportunity today with the Abbey to myself for most of the time

King Robert the Bruce is buried here, along with a great many others from the Royal lines, and it's got a great atmosphere and character that's all very photogenic. Seems Dunfermline was a bit of a high flier back in the day.
