Cotton Bolls?

Last night, we had a surprise dumping of the kind of thick, sticky snow that sticks to every twig and branch, making the world look like it had been heavily dusted with confectioners sugar.  This morning I woke to a winter wonderland.  This is a Korean Lilac bush outside the back door, sporting its new winter wardrobe.  I thought it looked a lot like a miniature cotton field!
