Hazel catkins and flowers

We're having another day with four seasons in a day ... sun, wet snow, sun, hailstones, sun , you get the picture ! In between the precipitation I've been trying to capture these catkins and I was so surprised to see that there are also the tiniest red flowers close to the catkins. They're the female flowers of the common hazel tree. For Flower Friday with thanks to Anni/Bikerbear for hosting this lovely floral challenge.

I've gotten an appointment on Tuesday with the GP for a referral to the eye specialist, finger crossed that I'll be able to see the eye specialist soon, I do remember they were usually very busy and it could take months before MIL got appointments.
