Come on, I'll race ya!!!
We were third in the quiz last night, so we keep a top three run going ;-)
Late to bed and almost made it through the night in the same bed, but hub had a coughing fit just before 7, so decamped nextdoor (not literally ;-) both surfaced just after 9 to a gloriously sunny and blue sky morning.
After a cuppa and a slice of toast we headed out for a proper walk in our local area. It was breezy and chilly but the sun and pace soon warmed us up. We walked up by The Harrow, the very first pub we visited in this area, when we first started our house hunt in 1999. Our jobs were being relocated from Manchester to Liverpool so our search was very much halfway between the two cities.
At the time our estate was half built when we found it and decided it was right for us, so once we had signed on the dotted line for our plot, we went for lunch in The Harrow to celebrate :-) It has improved somewhat to how it was back then ;-) We commuted from east Manchester to Liverpool City Centre for 6 months, over winter, until our house was built, eventually moving April 2000. That was a long old stretch of 12 hour days!
So for old times sake we popped into The Harrow as its about half way on our walking route, for a coffee and a warm ;-). This colourful cockerel was crowing loudly whilst we were drinking our coffee and as you do, I had to go and find him out the back.
We set off again heading home and picked up hubs newspaper, that pushed us over our 10,000 steps for the day :-)
We got back and decided to spend an hour in the garden cutting back the ornamental grasses and various clematis. The back border looks much tidier now. We didnt want to walk on the grass too much as its very wet, so didnt get to the border on the far side. Need a few more dry days first!
We have just had a phone call from youngest confirming they "are in" their new house. The move went seamlessly, now to unpack and get sorted over the next three days :-)
We've had a light lunch, scrambled eggs on toast, as we are out to ight with our neighbours for our "Christmas" meal, which will be paid for by our quiz winnings from last year :-))
