Groundhog day

Not sure why this bizarre scene made the BBC news. In case you didn't see it,  it's big thing here. Officials of the Society dressed in ceremonial suits and top hats and in front of a large and noisy crowd let a groundhog out of its cage to choose between two scrolls. One foretells spring is about to be sprung, the other weeks of snow. Today it chose the latter.
