A trip to Newcastle on the Metro...
...in excellent company this afternoon...
Roberty Olley is a local artist and sculptor best known for his mining subjects, humorous drawings and paintings of everyday life, especially his iconic painting and internationally acclaimed Westoe Netty.
This "Famous Faces" mural is at the Blackett Street entrance to Monument Station. It conveys the breadth of achievement across the region by depicting famous personalities of the area looking out of the carriage windows.
We weren't really in such exalted company - but it looked the silliest group to join in with if we had been!
Thanks for Silly Saturday admirer!
