Lichen and moss

It was grey, wet and miserable this morning and when I had finished shopping in town I fought the urge to go home and went for a walk on Old Oswestry Racecourse.

After all the rain it was more of a squelch and slide than a walk but at least I had a bit of exercise. Part way around the rain stopped which improved things no end.  

There are a lot of old trees on The Racecourse, many covered in lichen and moss - a good sign of clean air. It was quite difficult to know which photo to choose but liked the colours and variety in this one.
