Charlbury Town Green

Today we took the train from London to Charlbury to visit our friends Alice and Frank.  Alice retired last August as Principal of Somerville College, Oxford, and moved to Charlbury (25 km northwest) with Frank. We spent a delightful day mostly in their lovely old house, but did brave very light rain for an extensive walk around the picturesque village (4,000 inhabitants). Less than a year ago we attended a wonderful discussion with Shirley Williams hosted by Alice.
