A trip to Marsden......

Twas the Imbolc Fire Festival in Marsden tonight...a Celtic festival to see off winter and welcome in spring.  Thought it would be a great idea to go and was looking forward to much fire throwing and fireworks.
Only someone had fallen in 'the gap' and all the trains were delayed and having got there an hour late... there were just too many people to get anywhere near the festivities.
So .....we sulked off to 'The Railway' pub for consolement and to wait for the train home and bumped in to the 'Carnival of the Dead' band who were colourfully taking refreshment post their performance.  
Not quite the evening we'd planned, but entertaining none the less.
Oh and I learnt Slaithwaite isn't Slaithwaite.... it's Sla wit..
