The Night of the Super Blue Blood Moon (no moon)

So the moon was up there in the sky, its light reflecting off the snowy hills. Super because it was the closets it gets to the earth and hence very bright. Blue because it was the second full moon of the month. Blood because somewhere on the other side of the planet there was a total lunar eclipse.
However here we have no moon, just the brightest star in the sky - Sirius, the dog star, and half of Orion.
