1198. Painting Set

This is my first ever attempt at a water colour....I don't even remember doing water colours when I was at school doing Art "A" Level!

My dear friend Paula (also known as Subjunctive on Blip) has been providing me with lots of encouragement to draw and paint and she is doing a tiny painting every day at the moment and they are so beautiful...I am in awe.  Inspired by Paula I started to do a drawing every day of my holiday from the 17th Jan - 1st February and I have been sending her examples of my (not very good) drawings and she has been supporting me very step of the way...go Paula!
Imagine my surprise when I returned home on Thursday to find a parcel from Canada waiting for me...this lovely tiny travel painting set complete with a little paintbrush you can fill with water to be able to paint "on the go".   Paula is such a kind and wonderful person and this was so thoughtful of her...having had the absolute pleasure of meeting her in person almost a year ago now...I am so pleased to call her my friend....

So here is my first effort...a simple drawing of a view I took a photo of earlier today....(see the extra to see what it really looks like!).

This is a bit of double whammy today as most of the photos I took today were off auto and in fact this one was on full manual mode on my camera...I'm so chuffed that I managed a few half way decent photos...this one is actually using three different photos all with different exposure settings merged into one HDR image and processed in Lightroom.

I'm truly blessed with friends and family ....something I will never take for granted.....I love you all and you know who you are....
