Tintern Abbey West Window at Sundown
Wow, it was cold out there today. Lovely and sunny but, oh my, a bit chilly. Thermals and heated gloves made it possible to motorcycle this afternoon without losing fingers (or anything else!) to frostbite. A gentle bimble up the A38 to Gloucester and then over to Goodrich where we arrived just in time for the castle cafe to close.
Onward and down the lovely twisty wooded A466 which follows the river Wye down to Tintern, where we stopped again and this time got a hot teapot - full of hot water but no teabag! Once that was sorted out we defrosted our fingers around mugs of tea before returning over the old Severn Bridge.
This is Tintern Abbey, or at least what remains of the west window. The sun is going down just over my shoulder and he's coloured the clouds a rosy pink. The picture is an Aurora HDR 2018 compilation of three bracketed shots. Interesting the recombination produced some chromatic distortion, but I've done what I can to remove that.
Hope your weekend was fab. Janet's home from London tomorrow, so I'd better do some washing up. :-p
